WWE Raw’s Season Premiere Features Commercial-Free Hour and Key Matches Before Netflix Move

Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw marks its “season premiere” with a special commercial-free first hour. The show, taking place in Calgary, Canada, will feature an eight-person Street Fight between The Wyatt Sicks and American Made, including Chad Gable, Ivy Nile, and The Creed Brothers. This match follows a storyline where The Wyatt Sicks, a faction honoring the late Bray Wyatt, has been targeting Gable. Additionally, a Fatal Four Way match will determine the next challenger for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, with Pete Dunne, Jey Uso, Ilja Dragunov, and Braun Strowman competing for a chance to face Bron Breakker at WWE Bad Blood on October 5.

This episode marks a significant transition for WWE Raw. It’s the last “season premiere” on traditional television before the show moves to Netflix on January 6, in a $5 billion, ten-year deal. However, WWE isn’t completely leaving cable, as SmackDown will join NXT on the USA Network, while NXT prepares to move to The CW. The presence of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart adds to the special nature of this Calgary-based event.
