MJF Wins Unexpected Victory at AEW All Out Amid Contract Uncertainty for Garcia

In a surprising turn of events at AEW All Out, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) defeated Daniel Garcia, contrary to initial plans. Reports suggest that Garcia was originally slated to win, but AEW changed course due to uncertainty surrounding Garcia’s contract status. Garcia’s current deal is set to expire in fall 2024, and although AEW expects him to stay, he hasn’t officially signed a new contract yet.

Despite losing the match, Garcia managed to get the upper hand post-bout. He countered MJF’s surprise attack with a low blow and delivered a piledriver from the second rope. This sequence might serve to write MJF off television temporarily, as he’s reportedly set to film a movie. The incident follows a recent championship match where MJF lost the AEW American Championship to Will Ospreay, partly due to Garcia’s interference.
