AEW President Tony Khan Predicts Company to Become Second Most Profitable Wrestling Promotion in History
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has made significant strides since its formation in 2019, establishing itself as the second-largest wrestling promotion in the United States despite facing challenges like the global pandemic. AEW President Tony Khan recently addressed the company’s financial future during a media call for the All Out event. He expressed confidence that AEW is on track to become the second most profitable wrestling company in history once their new media rights deal with Warner Brothers Discovery is finalized.
Khan emphasized the impressive nature of this achievement, given that AEW has only been in existence for just over five years and on television for less than that. While he couldn’t provide exact comparisons to historical figures from other wrestling companies, Khan believes that over a multi-year period, AEW’s profitability will surpass that of any wrestling promotion except WWE. He also hinted that negotiations with Warner Brothers Discovery are nearing completion, using sports metaphors to suggest that a deal announcement is imminent and will be highly beneficial for AEW.
