AEW’s recent “Dynamite” episode, leading up to their All Out pay-per-view, featured a controversial opening segment between MJF and Daniel Garcia. The segment involved heated exchanges and ended with Garcia being hit with a glass bottle, leaving him bloodied. However, wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer felt that this segment didn’t effectively build excitement for their upcoming match.

Speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” Dreamer praised MJF’s microphone skills but suggested that the segment could have been executed differently to better engage viewers. While he acknowledged that the match itself would likely be excellent due to both wrestlers’ skills, Dreamer felt that the setup didn’t sufficiently explain or justify the conflict between the two competitors. In contrast, Dreamer pointed to the show’s closing segment, featuring Hangman Page burning down Swerve Strickland’s childhood home, as a more compelling and hook-worthy storyline.
