Former TNA Wrestling President Scott D’Amore revealed on Chris Jericho’s podcast that he made offers to two major wrestling stars at the end of 2023, despite TNA’s limited budget compared to WWE and AEW. These offers were extended to CM Punk and Will Ospreay, with D’Amore explaining that such high-profile signings could potentially change the company’s entire revenue model.

Jericho also disclosed that he had been in talks with D’Amore about working with Impact Wrestling in 2018, before AEW’s formation. While the potential collaboration would have involved a match with Penta El Zero Miedo, Jericho ultimately chose to join AEW. D’Amore acknowledged that this was the right long-term decision for Jericho.

D’Amore’s unexpected departure from TNA in February 2024 shocked many, occurring shortly after the company’s rebranding from Impact Wrestling. Although the exact reasons for his exit remain unclear, financial disagreements appeared to play a role, as D’Amore sought to increase investment in the company. He is now set to launch a new venture called Maple Leaf Wrestling, with inaugural events scheduled for October in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
