Swerve Strickland Signs Lucrative Long-Term Contract with AEW, Securing His Future Until 2028

Swerve Strickland has signed a new contract with AEW, considered one of the largest deals in the company’s history. Despite recently losing the AEW World Championship to Bryan Danielson at All In, Strickland is now among the highest-paid stars in AEW.

Originally signed to a three-year contract in 2022, Strickland’s performance exceeded expectations, particularly after winning the world championship in April and becoming AEW’s first Black world champion. The new deal extends his commitment to AEW until at least 2028, with the company prioritizing his long-term retention as a top talent.

The contract signing took place on air during the “Zero Hour” preshow before All In at Wembley Stadium, where Strickland later competed in the main event against Danielson. Looking ahead, Strickland is expected to face “Hangman” Adam Page at the upcoming All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago on September 7, continuing their ongoing feud.
