AEW All In: Time Constraints Cut Coffin Match Short, Sting Makes Surprise Return

The AEW All In event was generally well-received by fans, with several matches standing out, including the Casino Gauntlet and title wins by Will Ospreay, Mariah May, and Bryan Danielson. However, the Coffin Match between Darby Allin and AEW TNT Champion Jack Perry was notably shorter than expected.

Time constraints were the primary reason for the shortened match. AEW needed to conclude the pay-per-view by 10 p.m. in England, resulting in cuts to the Allin-Perry bout. This led to the exclusion of some planned spots, although they did manage to incorporate some thumbtack-related moves early in the match.

The Coffin Match lasted just over ten and a half minutes, making it the second shortest match of the event. It’s unclear exactly how much time was cut, but it’s believed to be several minutes.

Despite the time limitations, Jack Perry successfully defended his championship, handing Darby Allin his first loss in a Coffin Match. The drama continued post-match when Perry and the Young Bucks attempted to set Allin and the coffin on fire. This led to a surprise appearance by Sting, Allin’s former partner and mentor, who intervened to stop the attack. This marked Sting’s first AEW appearance since his retirement at Revolution in March.
