Toni Storm’s reign as AEW Women’s World Champion came to an end at the All In event on Sunday. Her former fan and protégé, Mariah May, defeated Storm in a dramatic and bloody match to claim the title.

The contest was intense, with May overcoming several obstacles. She had to contend with Storm’s assistant Luther and even slapped her own mother during the match. Mina Shirakawa watched the action from the audience.

Storm had held the championship since November, when she beat Hikaru Shida at the Full Gear event. This was her third time holding the world title in AEW.

May’s journey to the championship began when she debuted in AEW as Storm’s devoted fan. She started imitating Storm’s style and wrestling techniques, which Storm initially appreciated. However, after winning the Women’s Owen Hart tournament in May, Mariah turned against Storm, attacking her viciously.

In the championship match, both wrestlers inflicted damage on each other. Despite Storm’s efforts to get revenge, May ultimately won by using Storm’s own signature move, the Storm Zero, against her.
