Shawn Michaels reveals NXT’s youth-focused strategy and upcoming No Mercy event in Denver
Shawn Michaels, a WWE Hall of Famer, is currently in charge of talent development for NXT. He has helped create new stars like Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes, Bron Breakker, and current NXT Champion Ethan Page.
In a recent radio interview, Michaels talked about NXT’s target audience. He emphasized that they aim to attract younger viewers, noting that the average age of NXT wrestlers is around 24. This focus on youth is part of NXT’s strategy to build the future of WWE.
Michaels acknowledged the tough competition in television but said NXT is doing well. He explained that their success comes from trying to give wrestling fans what they want. Michaels and Triple H use their own fan perspective to guide their decisions about the show.
The next big NXT event, called No Mercy, will happen on September 1 in Denver, Colorado. Joe Hendry has earned a shot at the NXT Championship after winning a match against Pete Dunne and Wes Lee.
