49ers’ Kittle Involved in Physical Altercation at WWE WrestleMania 39
George Kittle, a known WWE fan and San Francisco 49ers tight end, participated in a WWE WrestleMania 39 match in 2023. He clotheslined The Miz, a WWE wrestler, and received a text from 49ers general manager John Lynch afterward. Lynch said, “Hope you had fun” and “Don’t do that again.”
Kittle explained to ESPN that he did not inform the team of his physical involvement in the match, stating his philosophy was to avoid getting hurt. Many sports contracts prohibit athletes from participating in dangerous activities.
