Darby Allin recently shared his experience of participating in Sting’s final wrestling match. The event took place in February at Revolution, where Allin and Sting defeated The Young Bucks to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Allin described the pressure he felt leading up to the match, noting that he was unusually tense on the day of the event. Sting noticed this change in Allin’s demeanor and inquired about it. Allin explained his concern about ensuring the match lived up to expectations, given its significance as Sting’s retirement bout.

Despite the pressure, the match was a success. Sting later told Allin that it ranked among the top three favorite matches of his entire career. Allin emphasized Sting’s humility and down-to-earth nature outside the ring, citing it as one of the most valuable lessons he learned from working with the veteran wrestler.

Allin also mentioned being awestruck by Sting’s final entrance and feeling the need to deliver an exceptional performance. He was willing to take significant risks during the match, including jumping off a ladder through glass, to make it memorable.

The interview highlights the emotional and professional significance of being involved in a legendary wrestler’s retirement match, as well as the impact Sting had on Allin both in and out of the ring.
