CM Punk and Cody Rhodes Set to Address Clash At The Castle Fallout on WWE SmackDown; Money In The Bank Qualifier Matches Scheduled
The Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, is buzzing with anticipation as WWE SmackDown goes live on June 21, 2024. The show promises to be action-packed, with several high-stakes matches and appearances by some of the biggest names in the wrestling world.
One of the main focuses of the night will be the reveal of the next entrants into the Men’s and Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Matches, set to take place at WWE Money In The Bank on July 6. Carmelo Hayes, Randy Orton, and The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga will collide in a Triple Threat qualifier match, while Andrade faces off against one half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions Grayson Waller and Kevin Owens. On the women’s side, Bianca Belair will go head-to-head with The OC’s Michin and Chelsea Green. The winners of these bouts will join Jey Uso and IYO SKY in their respective Money In The Bank match-ups.
The fallout from WWE Clash At The Castle last Saturday is still fresh in everyone’s minds. CM Punk’s interference in the World Heavyweight Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest, as well as The Bloodline’s brutal attack on Cody Rhodes following his I Quit Undisputed WWE Championship match against AJ Styles, have left fans eager for answers. Both Rhodes and Punk are set to appear on tonight’s show, with the latter returning to his hometown of Chicago.
Another storyline that has been brewing for weeks is the tension between LA Knight and United States Champion Logan Paul. Knight has been relentlessly pursuing Paul, even going as far as demanding answers from “SmackDown” General Manager Nick Aldis regarding the champion’s whereabouts. The two are finally set to meet in the ring tonight, and fans are expecting fireworks.
WWE Women’s Champion Bayley and Jade Cargill are also advertised to be in attendance, adding to the star-studded lineup.
As the show kicks off, a video package recaps the dramatic events of the World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE Clash At The Castle, as well as Drew McIntyre’s shocking decision to quit WWE on the following Monday’s episode of “WWE Raw.” Commentators Wade Barrett and Corey Graves welcome the audience as CM Punk makes his way to the ring, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable night of WWE action.
