AEW’s Tony Khan juggles multiple roles, negotiates media rights amid potential Fox deal
Tony Khan, CEO of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), manages multiple executive roles across different sports organizations, including the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham Football Club. Despite his busy schedule, Khan maintains that his passion for wrestling makes the workload manageable. He credits his love for the sport, its business aspects, and the fans as key motivators that keep him going around the clock.
AEW currently produces three weekly shows, with “AEW Rampage” often taped after “Dynamite” broadcasts, requiring significant time on the road. Simultaneously, Khan is engaged in crucial media rights negotiations for 2025. Talks with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) are reportedly nearing completion, potentially including streaming rights on WBD’s MAX service. Additionally, discussions are underway with Fox, which might lead to a new AEW program, possibly called “Shockwave,” to fill the void left by WWE SmackDown’s cancellation. However, it remains unclear whether this potential show would air on Fox’s main channel or one of its affiliated networks like FS1.
