AEW’s Ricochet reveals Jackie Chan as biggest influence, cites diverse wrestling inspirations

AEW star Ricochet recently revealed his diverse sources of inspiration in professional wrestling. In an interview, he shared that his biggest influence is actually legendary action movie star Jackie Chan. Ricochet explained that, due to his smaller stature, he can’t rely on raw power like some wrestlers. Instead, he incorporates flips, tricks, and a Jackie Chan-like style into his performances to create a spectacular show.

Beyond Chan, Ricochet also cited several professional wrestlers as influences. These include Rey Mysterio and other WCW cruiserweights, Japanese stars Jushin Thunder Liger and Tiger Mask, as well as independent circuit standouts like AJ Styles, Matt Sydal, Jack Evans, and The Amazing Red. This mix of inspirations from both inside and outside the wrestling world highlights how wrestlers often draw from various sources to develop their unique in-ring personas and styles.
