WWE’s “Raw” to Stream on Netflix from 2025, AEW Media Rights Remain Uncertain
WWE’s flagship show “Raw” is set to move to Netflix in January 2025, as part of a series of network changes for WWE programming. TKO Group Holdings’ COO Mark Shapiro revealed that the deal with Netflix evolved from an initial pitch for “NXT” to a larger, global agreement that includes “Raw” and other international properties. The negotiation process was challenging, involving key executives from both companies, but ultimately resulted in a mutually beneficial arrangement.
While WWE has secured its media rights deals, the situation for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) remains uncertain. AEW is currently in negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery for its media rights. Adding complexity to the matter, Warner Bros. Discovery is pursuing legal action against the NBA’s new media rights agreement with Amazon Prime. It’s unclear how this legal dispute might impact AEW’s ongoing negotiations with the media company.
