WWE’s Damian Priest Reveals Lost Opportunity for Role in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest recently revealed that he was once offered a role in Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” However, the opportunity was taken away from him, though not by Marvel. While it was speculated that Priest might have been considered for the role of Namor, the main antagonist, the exact role offered remains unclear.
The circumstances surrounding the lost opportunity are somewhat mysterious. During an interview, Chris Van Vliet hinted at the involvement of the “old regime,” suggesting that someone within Vince McMahon’s WWE hierarchy may have intervened. Despite this setback, Priest maintains a positive outlook, acknowledging that his current success as World Heavyweight Champion might not have happened if he had taken a different path into acting.
Priest isn’t alone in his interest in Marvel projects. Fellow WWE star Kofi Kingston has also expressed a desire to be cast in a Wakanda-based TV series, highlighting the appeal of such roles to professional wrestlers looking to expand their careers into acting.
