WWE SmackDown viewership drops post-Roman Reigns, but live event attendance and YouTube engagement remain strong
WWE SmackDown’s recent viewership has seen a decline since Roman Reigns’ departure from television. After attracting over 2.2 million viewers for two consecutive weeks following SummerSlam, the show’s audience dropped by nearly 200,000 viewers. The latest episode averaged 2,054,000 viewers with a 0.53 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, marking a 5% decrease in this crucial age group compared to the previous week. Overall, SmackDown’s viewership is down 4% compared to last August.
Despite the decline in TV ratings, WWE’s live event attendance remains strong. The recent SmackDown show at Uber Arena sold 12,145 tickets, while the upcoming Bash in Berlin event is completely sold out with 13,387 tickets, making it the highest-grossing arena event in company history. On YouTube, fan engagement continues to be high, with segments featuring Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes, LA Knight’s United States Championship match, and Grayson Waller’s apology to Austin Theory garnering significant views.
