WWE Had Championship Plans for Owen Hart Before His Untimely Death, Reveals Bruce Prichard
Bruce Prichard recently revealed that WWE had main event title plans for Owen Hart before his tragic death in 1999. According to Prichard, one idea was for Owen to defeat his brother Bret Hart for the championship, with Bret then chasing Owen for the title until SummerSlam. This storyline was considered an extension of their memorable “brother versus brother” feud, which Prichard believes was one of the best stories WWE ever produced.
Prichard suggested that if Owen had won the title during their feud, the matches would have been even more interesting and intense, with fans rooting for Bret as the underdog. He also noted that Bret Hart’s work with Owen was possibly some of his best performances ever. Prichard highlighted that the feud was particularly memorable because Bret gave more to Owen in their matches than to any other opponent, always ensuring Owen looked strong before ultimately defeating him.
