Willow Nightingale Opens Up About Ongoing Feud with Former Friend Kris Statlander
Willow Nightingale, the current CMLL World Women’s Champion, has spoken about her ongoing feud with former friend Kris Statlander. The conflict began after Nightingale’s TBS Championship loss to Mercedes Mone at Double or Nothing, when Statlander unexpectedly turned on her.
In an interview on AEW’s YouTube channel, Nightingale expressed her hurt and confusion over the betrayal. She described the situation as “bittersweet,” noting that she had imagined sharing career highlights with Statlander as a friend, not as an opponent. Nightingale wondered how long Statlander had harbored negative feelings towards her, feeling that she had been misled.
Nightingale, known for her kind and bubbly personality, acknowledged that violence and aggression can be effective ways to express oneself in wrestling. The two wrestlers recently faced off on July 31’s AEW Dynamite, where Statlander won a CMLL World Women’s Title Eliminator match.
The feud continues at the upcoming All In event, where Nightingale will team up with Tomohiro Ishii to face Statlander and Stokely Hathaway in a mixed tag team match.
