Will Ospreay wins AEW International Championship at Wembley, debuts Assassin’s Creed-sponsored entrance
Will Ospreay claimed the AEW International Championship in England, performing in front of 50,000 fans at Wembley Stadium. This victory marks his second win at the venue. Ospreay’s entrance was sponsored by the video game Assassin’s Creed, welcoming him into the Order of Assassins.
Ospreay explained that a friend connected him with Ubisoft, the game’s developer. Previously, he had used an entrance inspired by Assassin’s Creed Syndicate for a Wrestle Kingdom event. This collaboration was successful on social media, leading Ubisoft to involve Ospreay in promoting their upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is set in Japan.
The wrestler revealed that his “Aerial Assassin” character was created for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) fans, inspired by his fondness for the Assassin’s Creed series. Ospreay, who spent eight years in Japan, found this collaboration to be a perfect fit.
Ospreay expressed great enthusiasm about working with Ubisoft on his entrance, repeatedly thanking them and highlighting the game’s influence on his life and wrestling career.
