Will Ospreay Retires Tiger Driver ’91 After Injuring Bryan Danielson, Faces Pressure from MJF
Will Ospreay has decided to stop using the Tiger Driver ’91 move after seemingly injuring Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty. Ospreay explained his decision on a podcast, saying he doesn’t want to risk seriously hurting other wrestlers or ending their careers.
The move came under scrutiny when Ospreay discussed it with wrestling legend Ricky Steamboat, who strongly advised against using it. Ospreay only fully understood the danger after performing the move on Danielson, who now needs neck surgery.
Ospreay expressed remorse for causing injuries and believes he’s skilled enough to win matches without resorting to such dangerous moves. However, his upcoming match against MJF for the AEW American Championship has reignited discussions about the Tiger Driver ’91.
MJF has suggested that Ospreay lacks the killer instinct to be a top wrestler in AEW, leading to speculation that Ospreay might bring back the controversial move for their match at the All In event.
