Will Ospreay finds AEW travel schedule less grueling than NJPW, values flight time as meditation
Will Ospreay, the AEW International Champion, has a demanding travel schedule, commuting between the US and UK for AEW Dynamite. However, he considers this less grueling than his previous routine with NJPW in Japan. During his time in Japan, Ospreay would be away from family for up to seven weeks, facing a 15-hour flight and a 9-hour time difference. This made communication with loved ones challenging, as their daily schedules rarely aligned.
Despite the physical toll of constant travel, Ospreay has found an unexpected benefit. He views the long flights as a form of meditation, appreciating the rare moments of silence amidst his busy life. The wrestler explained that between his AEW commitments and family life, he seldom experiences quiet time, making these peaceful moments on flights valuable.
During a conversation with host Renee Paquette about coping with travel, Ospreay revealed he can’t read, prompting Paquette to suggest audiobooks as an alternative. Ospreay’s decision to travel weekly between continents is motivated by his desire to be closer to his family, highlighting the personal sacrifices involved in his professional wrestling career.
