Tony Khan reveals improved backstage atmosphere at AEW Collision, hints at post-CM Punk era
AEW’s Saturday night show, “Collision,” has been on the air for over a year now. The company’s president, Tony Khan, recently discussed how things have changed since the show’s debut. He mentioned that the backstage environment at “Collision” is now easier to work in, and there’s better coordination between AEW’s two main shows.
Khan hinted at improved relationships within the locker room compared to a year ago. While not mentioning him by name, Khan’s comments seemed to reference CM Punk, who was a prominent figure on “Collision” during his final months with AEW.
During Punk’s time on the show, there were reports of backstage tensions. Some wrestlers who didn’t get along with Punk were reportedly kept off “Collision.” There were also stories about conflicts between Punk and other talent, including Ryan Nemeth. In some cases, wrestlers were allegedly sent home from “Collision” tapings to avoid potential issues with Punk.
These comments suggest that AEW has moved past the backstage drama associated with Punk’s presence and is now operating in a more harmonious environment.
