Tay Melo medically cleared for AEW return after giving birth, joining wave of women’s comebacks
Tay Melo, a Brazilian wrestling star, has been absent from the ring since March 2023 due to significant life changes. She and her husband, Sammy Guevara, welcomed their daughter Luna in November 2023. Melo has been working hard to get back into shape for her return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). In a recent vlog, she announced that she has been medically cleared to wrestle again, though her official return date is yet to be confirmed by AEW management.
AEW’s women’s division has seen several high-profile comebacks lately. Dr. Britt Baker returned at Forbidden Door after a long absence, Jamie Hayter made her comeback at All In: London following a 15-month hiatus, and Anna Jay is expected to return soon after participating in STARDOM’s 5Star Grand Prix tournament. These returns, along with Melo’s potential comeback, signal an exciting period for AEW’s women’s wrestling scene.
