Swerve Strickland’s AEW success showcases career growth potential for former WWE talent
Former WWE wrestlers have found success in AEW, with Swerve Strickland being a prime example. Tommy Dreamer recently discussed this on “Busted Open Radio,” highlighting how Strickland’s move to AEW has given him opportunities he might not have had in WWE. Strickland is currently involved in a heated feud with “Hangman” Adam Page, which has become a major storyline in AEW.
Dreamer noted that Strickland’s departure from WWE’s Hit Row stable ultimately benefited his career. He also mentioned AJ Francis (formerly known as Top Dolla in WWE) as another wrestler who has improved since leaving WWE. Strickland himself has acknowledged the need to be creative and think outside the box to connect with fans, a mindset he developed during his time as the character Killshot in Lucha Underground. This approach has likely contributed to his current success and character development in AEW.
