Samoa Joe eyes matches with Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay, balances AEW commitments with TV filming
Samoa Joe, a prominent wrestler in AEW for the past two years, has expressed interest in facing two specific opponents in future matches. During a Q&A session at “Terrificon,” Joe named Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay as the top contenders he’d like to face in the ring. While Omega is currently recovering from surgery for diverticulitis, Joe believes he’ll return to action sooner than expected due to his quick healing abilities.
Joe himself is currently away from AEW, filming the second season of the “Twisted Metal” TV show in Toronto. The filming is scheduled to conclude in November 2024, but Joe may make occasional appearances in AEW during production breaks. This temporary absence comes after a successful run in AEW, where he had notable matches against stars like Darby Allin, MJF, and CM Punk, including winning the AEW World Championship.
