Rey Mysterio praises son Dominik’s villainous transformation in WWE, admits initial doubts
Rey Mysterio, the WWE Hall of Famer, recently shared his thoughts on his son Dominik’s successful transition to a villainous character in professional wrestling. Despite initially doubting Dominik’s ability to play a heel, Rey admitted he has been pleasantly surprised by his son’s performance. Interestingly, Rey’s wife had always believed Dominik would excel as a bad guy, demonstrating a mother’s intuition about her child’s potential.
The legendary wrestler expressed pride in having shared the ring with his son, particularly in their historic achievement as the first father-son duo to become tag team champions in WWE. However, Rey now believes that Dominik’s solo career has allowed him to flourish in ways that might not have been possible if they had remained a team. Since their split in 2022, the father and son have faced each other multiple times in the ring, including a high-profile match at WrestleMania 39, further solidifying Dominik’s status as one of the most despised figures in professional wrestling.
