NXT Tag Team Champions to defend titles against SmackDown stars at upcoming St. Louis event
The upcoming “WWE NXT” event in St. Louis on October 8 will feature an exciting tag team championship match. Current NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom will defend their titles against “SmackDown” stars Grayson Waller and Austin Theory, known as A-Town Down Under. This challenge came after Waller and Theory, who won the WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 40, expressed their desire to add the NXT Tag Team titles to their collection.
Frazer and Axiom recently reclaimed the NXT Tag Team Championships at “NXT” No Mercy, defeating Chase U’s Ridge Holland and Andre Chase. The match had dramatic consequences, with Holland turning on his teammates afterwards. Before their title defense, Frazer and Axiom will face off with Waller and Theory on a special episode of “The Grayson Waller Effect” during next week’s “NXT” in Orlando.
In addition to the tag team action, the St. Louis event will also see a high-profile singles match. Fourteen-time world champion Randy Orton is set to compete against up-and-coming “NXT” talent Je’Von Evans in what promises to be an intriguing first-time encounter.
