Ethan Page successfully defended his NXT Championship against Joe Hendry at No Mercy. Following this victory, it was announced that Page will defend his title again on October 1st, marking NXT’s debut on The CW network. This special event will take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
The October 1st show is shaping up to be a star-studded affair. CM Punk, a Chicago native, has personally requested to appear on the CW debut. Additionally, Shawn Michaels, Senior VP of Talent Development Creative, plans to invite other WWE Raw and SmackDown stars to the show. The following week, on October 8th, NXT will broadcast from St. Louis, Missouri, featuring an appearance by Randy Orton. While Page’s opponent for the October 1st title defense hasn’t been announced yet, there’s speculation that it could be a main roster star, adding to the excitement of NXT’s new era on The CW network.
