Nic Nemeth reveals SummerSlam 2019 match against Goldberg was intended as part of his WWE exit plan
Nic Nemeth, currently the TNA World Champion, has been enjoying great success in his wrestling career. He’s been competing globally for various promotions including TNA, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, winning several titles along the way.
However, Nemeth’s career wasn’t always this bright, especially during his time in WWE as Dolph Ziggler. He experienced some tough moments, including a quick loss to Goldberg at SummerSlam 2019. In a recent interview on “Busted Open Radio,” Nemeth revealed that this match was actually intended to be part of his exit from WWE.
Nemeth explained that he had planned to retire from WWE at that time. The SummerSlam match against Goldberg and a subsequent match against The Miz on Raw the following night were supposed to be his final appearances with the company. These matches were meant to be his way of “putting over” other wrestlers before leaving.
This revelation sheds new light on that period of Nemeth’s career and the circumstances surrounding those matches.
