Mercedes Mone addresses criticism of AEW All In match, explains stadium challenges and audience fatigue
Mercedes Mone has addressed the criticism surrounding her recent TBS Championship defense against Britt Baker at AEW All In: London. Despite successfully retaining her title, the match received negative feedback on social media, particularly regarding Baker’s performance. Mone acknowledged these concerns in her latest “Mone Mag” update.
The champion explained that stadium shows differ from arena events, especially in terms of audience sound. She noted experiencing audience fatigue, which she attributed to their match being the third to last on a card with over 10 bouts. Mone also mentioned hearing chants for both herself and Baker, and said that Baker informed her the crowd sounded better on video than in person.
While Mone admitted she would have approached some aspects of the match differently given another chance, she emphasized not dwelling on “what if” scenarios. She expressed regret over including certain elements that may not have been necessary for this particular match. Despite these reflections, Mone maintains a positive outlook and is looking forward to next year’s All In event in Texas.
