Matt Cardona seeks return to major wrestling promotion, demands creative freedom and fair compensation
Matt Cardona, formerly known as Zack Ryder in WWE, is actively seeking a return to major televised wrestling. Since his WWE release, Cardona has made appearances in various promotions including AEW, MLW, and AAA, while also maintaining a busy schedule on the independent circuit. However, he’s now looking for a more permanent position with a major TV company.
Cardona emphasizes that his return to a major promotion must meet his requirements of both financial compensation and creative fulfillment. He states, “Cash plus Creative equals Cardona,” indicating his desire for a role that allows him to showcase his talents fully. Having rebuilt his brand on the independent scene and collected numerous titles, Cardona feels ready for a more prominent position in a major wrestling company.
Earlier this year, Cardona made an appearance on AEW Collision, challenging Adam Copeland for the TNT Championship. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn pectoral muscle shortly after, which sidelined him until August. Now recovered and back in action, Cardona is eager to take the next step in his career and secure a significant role with a major television wrestling promotion.
