Matt Cardona praises Cody Rhodes’ success, questions WWE claims, and reveals indie title overflow
Matt Cardona and Cody Rhodes have found success in wrestling after leaving WWE. Rhodes helped launch AEW and became a top star there before returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38. Cardona has spent four years on the indie scene, becoming a prominent figure in promotions like GCW, TNA, and WSW.
In a recent interview, Cardona praised Rhodes for taking a chance on himself and building a career outside WWE. However, he questioned whether Rhodes’ initial WWE run was truly as bad as he claims, noting that Rhodes never missed a WrestleMania. Cardona believes his own experience in WWE was worse, but he respects Rhodes for betting on himself and achieving success.
When asked about his title wins since leaving WWE, Cardona revealed that he has held so many championships from different promotions that he can’t keep track of them all. He even mentioned asking promoters to stop giving him titles, highlighting his significant success on the independent circuit.
