Jim Ross criticizes lengthy MJF-Ospreay promo, praises All In match despite build-up concerns
Will Ospreay emerged victorious against MJF at the All In event, reclaiming the International Championship. This match was the conclusion of their rivalry, which began with a one-hour bout on AEW Dynamite over a month ago. However, AEW commentator Jim Ross expressed some criticism regarding the build-up to their Wembley Stadium showdown.
Ross, speaking on his “Grilling JR” podcast, shared that he was “turned off” by the promo battle between MJF and Ospreay on the Dynamite episode preceding All In. He felt there was excessive talking, stating that promos shouldn’t require 15 to 25 minutes. Ross emphasized that wrestlers should be able to convey their message passionately and convincingly in a shorter time frame. Despite his criticism of the pre-match segment, Ross praised the actual match between Ospreay and MJF at Wembley Stadium. He noted the similarities in their wrestling styles and appreciated the storytelling, particularly involving the Tiger Driver ’91 move, though he admitted the narrative might be more appealing to hardcore fans.
