Jim Ross criticizes length of AEW TBS Championship match, suggests shorter duration would have been better
Jim Ross, a well-known wrestling announcer, has expressed his opinion that the AEW TBS Championship match between Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker at All In 2024 was too long. Ross suggested that 10 minutes would have been sufficient instead of the 17-minute duration. He explained that wrestlers often negotiate for more time, believing it will improve their match, but this isn’t always the case.
The match has faced criticism from various sources in the wrestling world. Fans and experts have pointed out that its length and placement on the card contributed to a lukewarm response. Mercedes Mone acknowledged the audience fatigue but remained satisfied with her and Baker’s performance. Meanwhile, former AEW employee Mark Henry critiqued the match, highlighting some sloppy moments and suggesting that Baker needs to improve to justify her status as an AEW “pillar.”
