Jey Uso and Pete Dunne advance in Intercontinental Championship tournament on WWE Raw
A tournament to determine the next challenger for Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship kicked off on WWE Raw with two triple threat matches. Jey Uso emerged victorious in the first match, defeating Kofi Kingston and Karrion Kross. Uso took advantage of the rivalry between Kross and Kingston to secure the win with a spear and Uso Splash.
In the second match, Pete Dunne triumphed over Xavier Woods and The Miz. Dunne prevented Woods from pinning The Miz by pulling the referee out of the ring, then finished off The Miz with his Bitter End move.
Following the matches, Breakker responded to Uso and Dunne in a backstage interview, confidently stating that “the worst is yet to come” for his potential challengers.
The tournament finals are scheduled for September 9, 2024, on Raw. Two more triple threat matches will determine the remaining finalists: Ilja Dragunov vs. Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio, and Bronson Reed vs. Ludwig Kaiser vs. Sheamus.
