Jesse Ventura Returns to WWE, Reveals Rejected Presidential Storyline Pitch
Jesse “The Body” Ventura recently appeared on a WWE Raw taping, signaling improved relations between him and the company. This marks a significant change from their past tensions, which were largely due to conflicts with former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
In a recent interview, Ventura revealed a fascinating story about one of these conflicts. After his term as Governor of Minnesota ended, he pitched an ambitious storyline idea to Vince and Linda McMahon. The proposed angle involved WWE creating its own political party and nominating a candidate for president. Ventura’s plan was for WWE to secure ballot access in all 50 states, initially teasing Vince McMahon as the potential nominee.
The storyline would then take a twist with Ventura challenging McMahon’s candidacy, citing his experience as a governor. The two would settle the nomination through a wrestling match between their chosen representatives, with Ventura’s wrestler winning. This would result in Ventura becoming the WWE’s official presidential candidate with nationwide ballot access. Ventura believed this could have been WWE’s biggest storyline ever, though it’s clear the idea was not implemented.
