HOOK Reclaims FTW Championship with Surprise Assist from Father Taz at AEW All In
At AEW All In, HOOK reclaimed the FTW Championship with unexpected assistance from his father, Taz. During the match against Chris Jericho, Taz, who was serving as a guest commentator, intervened when Bryan Keith tried to interfere. Taz caught Keith off-guard and locked him in a Tazmission, while HOOK made Jericho tap out to his Redrum submission hold. The match was conducted under FTW rules, allowing falls to count anywhere and no disqualifications.
Eric Bischoff, former WCW President, shared his thoughts on Taz’s surprise involvement. He praised the crowd’s enthusiastic reaction to Taz’s appearance but expressed concern that it might overshadow other matches on the card. Bischoff appreciated the father-son dynamic between Taz and HOOK but wondered how the audience felt about it. He also mentioned that he had expected interference from Jericho’s allies and was surprised by Taz’s involvement, having initially predicted a return from Samoa Joe.
Samoa Joe, who last appeared in AEW losing to Jericho in a Stampede Street Fight, has been absent from AEW programming. Reports suggest he’s been working on season two of the TV show “Twisted Metal,” with the possibility of making appearances on AEW during breaks in filming.
