Former WWE Star Ricochet Makes Surprise AEW Debut at Wembley, Cites Desire for Fun and Artistic Freedom
Ricochet, a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, made his surprising debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) during the Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In held at Wembley Stadium. This appearance came after his WWE contract had expired over the summer, and he had signed a multi-year deal with AEW. The fans in London were the first to witness Ricochet’s AEW debut live.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Ricochet explained his reasons for choosing AEW over WWE. He emphasized that the most enjoyable period of his 21-year career was when he was traveling the world with his fellow wrestlers, whom he affectionately referred to as “crazy lunatics.” Ricochet also mentioned that seeing his friends find success in AEW influenced his decision. He expressed his desire to have fun again and create the kind of wrestling art he loves, believing this move will allow him to shine and connect with his fans in a new way.
