Former WWE Star Nic Nemeth Compares Kofi Kingston to Ricky Steamboat, Hints at Possible Heel Turn
Nic Nemeth, a former WWE wrestler, has compared Kofi Kingston to WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat, calling Kingston the “Ricky Steamboat of our generation.” Nemeth praised Kingston’s career, particularly the “KofiMania” storyline, which he considers his favorite moment in another wrestler’s career. He appreciated the build-up of the story and how Kingston faced numerous obstacles along the way.
Nemeth highlighted Kingston’s status as a beloved figure in wrestling, noting that like Steamboat, Kingston has never played a villain role (known as a “heel” in wrestling terminology). He expressed joy that fans have finally recognized Kingston’s significant contributions to WWE and wrestling. However, Nemeth also mentioned a current storyline involving Kingston’s group, The New Day, which hints at potential internal conflicts. Interestingly, Nemeth suggested that Kingston might turn heel instead of his teammate Xavier Woods, which would contradict the comparison to Steamboat, who famously never played a villainous character throughout his career.
