Dragunov and Strowman Advance in WWE Raw’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament Qualifiers
Monday’s episode of WWE Raw featured exciting qualifying matches for the Intercontinental Championship Number One Contender’s tournament. Ilja Dragunov emerged victorious in a thrilling three-way match against Dragon Lee and Dominik Mysterio. The match took an unexpected turn when Carlito interfered, pushing Lee off the top rope. This led to Damian Priest chasing Mysterio out of the arena, leaving Dragunov and Lee to battle it out. Ultimately, Dragunov secured his spot in the tournament with a powerful H-Bomb.
In the second qualifying match, Braun Strowman, stepping in for the COVID-stricken Bronson Reed, faced off against Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser. Despite a strong showing from Sheamus, Pete Dunne’s surprise appearance and attack on the Celtic Warrior allowed Strowman to claim victory with a Powerslam on Kaiser. These results set up a Fatal Fourway match for next week’s Raw, featuring Dragunov, Strowman, Jey Uso, and Pete Dunne competing for a shot at Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship. Adding to the drama, Breakker had earlier confronted Uso, unsuccessfully attempting to persuade him to withdraw from the tournament.
