Deonna Purrazzo predicts inevitable all-women’s event for AEW and ROH, citing growing roster and championships
Women’s wrestling has seen significant progress in recent years, with all-women’s shows and pay-per-views becoming more common. Notable examples include WWE’s Evolution event in 2018 and NWA Empowerrr, organized by Mickie James.
Deonna Purrazzo, in a recent interview, expressed her belief that an all-women’s event for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH) is inevitable. She pointed out the large number of female wrestlers across various shows and the multiple championships that could be defended. Purrazzo emphasized that there are enough women, stories, and titles to fill a two-hour special or an all-women’s edition of an existing show.
AEW, founded in 2019, currently has two women’s titles: the AEW Women’s Championship and the TBS Championship. ROH, also under Tony Khan’s leadership, features the ROH Women’s World Championship and ROH Women’s World Television Championship.
As the AEW women’s division continues to grow, some wrestlers like Saraya and Nyla Rose have proposed the introduction of women’s tag team titles to further elevate female competitors in the company.
