Cody Rhodes to Defend WWE Championship Against Kevin Owens in Bash in Berlin Opening Match
The upcoming Bash in Berlin event, WWE’s first premium live event in Germany, will kick off with a high-stakes match. Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens in the opening bout. This announcement, made shortly before the event, suggests that the World Heavyweight Championship match between GUNTHER and Randy Orton will likely serve as the main event.
The road to this championship match began when Rhodes offered Owens a title shot as a gesture of gratitude for his help against the Bloodline. Owens initially hesitated but accepted after learning that Roman Reigns might also be in contention. In recent weeks, Owens has been hinting at a potential heel turn and even suggested that Rhodes might have injured his knee during a recent show in Germany. The event will also feature other exciting matches, including a Strap Match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk, a mixed tag team bout with Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio facing Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, and a Women’s Tag Team Championship defense by Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.
