Cody Rhodes reveals warm WWE reception, credits AEW for industry-wide salary increases
Cody Rhodes, one of the founders of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), recently discussed his return to WWE after leaving AEW in February 2022. Despite the competitive nature between the two companies, Rhodes revealed that he experienced a warm and appreciative reception from WWE staff and wrestlers upon his return.
Rhodes explained that many in WWE were grateful for what he and his AEW colleagues had accomplished. Their efforts had positively impacted the wrestling industry, leading to higher-paying contracts for performers. He noted that wrestling salaries had increased significantly, with some wrestlers now able to earn eight-figure incomes. Rhodes also mentioned that there was a general sense of gratitude backstage, with both producers and talent thanking him for his contributions to the industry, rather than focusing on the rivalry between WWE and AEW.
