CM Punk triumphs in Strap Match at Bash in Berlin, securing first WWE singles win in a decade
CM Punk secured a significant victory at Bash in Berlin, defeating Drew McIntyre in a Strap Match. This marked Punk’s first singles win in WWE in over a decade, with his last such victory dating back to January 2014. The match was a rematch from their earlier encounter at SummerSlam, where McIntyre had emerged victorious.
The Strap Match required both wrestlers to be tied together and touch all four corners of the ring to win. The intense contest featured numerous finishers and close calls. Despite McIntyre’s repeated tapping out during a sharpshooter hold and landing several Claymore Kicks, he couldn’t secure the win. Punk ultimately prevailed by delivering four GTS (Go To Sleep) finishers, touching all four corners in the process, and clinching the victory.
