CM Punk Fined After Surprise Attack on Drew McIntyre and Security Personnel on WWE Raw
CM Punk launched a surprise attack on Drew McIntyre during the August 26 episode of WWE Raw. While McIntyre was delivering a promo about their upcoming strap match at Bash in Berlin, Punk ambushed him from behind with a strap. The two wrestlers fought, ending with McIntyre being thrown onto the announce table. Punk then turned his aggression towards security personnel who tried to intervene.
As a consequence, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced on social media that Punk has been fined an undisclosed amount for assaulting security with the leather strap.
This incident is part of the ongoing feud between Punk and McIntyre. Punk had challenged McIntyre to a strap match on August 19, which McIntyre accepted. This will be their second official match, following their encounter at SummerSlam where McIntyre emerged victorious.
The storyline has incorporated elements like a leather strap and a sentimental plastic bracelet to add drama. McIntyre has acknowledged that Punk’s heart and endurance are his strongest assets in the ring.
The Bash in Berlin event, where their strap match will take place, is scheduled for Saturday, August 31, at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany.
