CM Punk escalates feud with Drew McIntyre, mocks Scottish heritage ahead of Bash in Berlin rematch
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s rivalry has intensified, with personal attacks becoming commonplace. When asked to say something nice about McIntyre, Punk jokingly called him the “fourth-best wrestler to ever wear a kilt,” ranking him behind Roddy Piper and The Highlanders tag team.
McIntyre proudly displays his Scottish heritage, often entering the ring wearing a kilt and has even carried a Scottish sword during his entrance. Punk claims he can separate his feelings about McIntyre when at home, but suggests McIntyre can’t do the same, pointing to McIntyre’s social media posts as evidence.
The feud between the two wrestlers has been ongoing for a year, with Punk stating it began when McIntyre showed happiness over Punk’s injury. Their rivalry led to a match at SummerSlam, where McIntyre emerged victorious. However, Punk will have another opportunity to even the score in an upcoming strap match at Bash in Berlin.
