Bully Ray questions AEW’s Continental Championship match, praises All In success
As AEW prepares for its major event All Out, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has raised questions about the AEW Continental Championship match on the final “Dynamite” between Kazuchika Okada and Kyle Fletcher. Ray expressed confusion over Fletcher’s title shot, given his recent loss to Ricochet, suggesting that the latter should have been given the opportunity instead. Although Fletcher did defeat Tomohiro Ishii on “Collision,” Ray believes this doesn’t fully justify the decision, pointing to a perceived lack of consistency in AEW’s rankings system.
Despite his criticism of the matchup, Ray acknowledges the importance of these upcoming AEW shows. He emphasizes the need for the company to expand its audience beyond its core fanbase. Ray also defended AEW against critics of their reported attendance figures for the recent All In event in London, stating that exaggerating numbers is a common practice in the wrestling industry. He praised AEW’s achievement at All In, describing it as a “great job” by the company.
