Bronson Reed out of WWE Raw’s IC title contender match due to COVID, replacement to be announced
WWE Raw is facing a last-minute change in its lineup for the Intercontinental Championship Number One Contender matches. Bronson Reed, who was scheduled to compete in a triple threat match against Ludwig Kaiser and Sheamus, has been pulled from the event due to COVID. General Manager Adam Pearce announced this development, stating that Reed is not medically cleared to perform. A replacement for Reed will be revealed during the show.
This news comes on the heels of Reed’s recent high-profile actions in WWE. Last week, he engaged in a violent encounter with Braun Strowman that ended with Reed performing his signature “Tsunami” move on Strowman through a car hood outside the arena. Reed has also been involved in storylines where he injured other wrestlers like Seth Rollins and R-Truth, leading to fines and threats of suspension from management.
The evening’s other triple threat match remains unchanged, featuring Ilja Dragunov, Dragon Lee, and Dominik Mysterio. Additional highlights for the show include an appearance by new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, as well as a six-person mixed tag team match between American Made and Alpha Academy.
