AEW’s Miro Returns to US Following Divorce and Injury Struggles, Wrestling Future Uncertain
AEW wrestler Miro has returned to the United States after an extended stay in his home country of Bulgaria. His return follows a split from his wife, CJ Perry, and a period of dealing with multiple injuries.
Miro was spotted in Los Angeles recently, though it’s unclear if this signals an imminent return to the wrestling ring. His last match was in December 2023 against Andrade El Idolo.
The split from Perry occurred in late 2023 after she joined AEW and became involved in a storyline feud with Miro. Following this, Miro moved back to Bulgaria.
In April, Miro shared updates about his injuries on social media. He had been dealing with shoulder and elbow issues since September 2023.
Despite signing a four-year contract extension with AEW in 2022, Miro’s in-ring appearances have been limited. He hasn’t wrestled at all in 2024, competed in only seven matches in 2023, and had just four matches in 2022. This reduced schedule is largely due to his injuries and time away from the company.
